Mystic River is one of those films that may go unnoticed to conventional movie watchers which is hard to believe with such a great cast and Clint Eastwood at the helm. Mr. Eastwood not only directed and produced this awesome film, he also wrote the entire soundtrack. Mystic River was nominated for 6 Academy Awards. The acting was so remarkable that it won Best Actor AND Best Supporting Actor, which has only happened one other time in history with Ben Hur.

Mystic River stars Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon. As kids, their 3 characters were close but drifted apart as they got older. Fast forward 25 years later and the three friends are brought back together by the tragic killing of one of their daughters. Clint Eastwood plays a great chess game with his viewers driving the vehicle of his film down every possible road that he can before delivering a shocking ending.

I would recommend watching Mystic River because of the message that it tries to send. That message is that no matter how close you think you are with someone, you never really know who they are. If you are up for a great mystery movie that delivers for two solid hours, then you should definitely check out Mystic River.
